Something strange started happening in 2019. I had come back to my passion for working with the color red, and found myself removing colors from the background to isolate this rich, passionate hue. Broken shards still built the body up, and I continued incorporating the mannequins, but suddenly they seemed more organic while the human form started to feel more rigid, robotic, or stone-like. I also began working more with plexiglass, which gave a more faint, subtle reflection, while the shards still provided a crisp, sharp one.
