2025

I've picked up in 2025 where I had left off the year before- in this case, strange, seamless blending of sometimes transparent forms and some experimenting with different light. One thing that stood out to me looking over many of the images from 2024 was a new sense of depth, atmosphere and space. I had also ended the year with a successful retrospective exhibition that caused me to look at the breadth of my work over the last 50 years, seeing some of the familiar themes and consistent threads that echo across my career as an artist. It also had me consider the various breakthroughs that have emerged throughout all these years, working with the same materials but always making new discoveries. As I begin 2025, these images feel more than ever like a convergence not only in technical details but in how I'm seeing, in my visual approach and how I'm photographing the same subject. I'm still living with some of these images, still trying to understand them, but what I know for sure is that I am incredibly excited by this new work and the potential for continuing to move forward!
